For Plan International Belgium, the website is a key touchpoint between its mission and its supporters. The objective of the new Dutch/French-language website was clear: inform visitors more effectively, build trust, and encourage more donations.

The website experience is calm, accessible, and content-led. Information is easy to find and easy to understand, with campaigns, impact stories, and news articles clearly structured to guide visitors through the organisation’s work.

Accessibility was built in from the start, ensuring the site works well across devices and for a wide range of users. This inclusive approach improves usability while aligning closely with Plan International’s values.

A working map that brings global impact closer

An important feature of the platform is an interactive country map with filtering functionality. This allows visitors to explore Plan International’s work by country, making a global organisation feel more tangible and relevant.

By selecting a country, users can immediately see related projects, stories, and information. This turns abstract international impact into something concrete and understandable, helping visitors connect emotionally with the cause and better understand where their support can make a difference.

The map also supports discovery. It encourages exploration, keeps users engaged longer, and helps surface content that might otherwise remain unseen.

Supporting donations through better journeys

Donation pathways are integrated naturally throughout the site. Calls to action appear at meaningful moments, supported by relevant content rather than disruptive prompts. This approach respects the user journey while still supporting fundraising goals.

News articles play a key role in building credibility and momentum, showing ongoing impact and reinforcing why support matters now.

The platform is built on a flexible HubSpot CMS with custom API integration via serverless functions. Giving internal teams the ability to manage content independently and communicate more effectively with supporters. Performance and reliability were treated as essential to the user experience, helping build trust at critical moments such as donating.
